Android is the most popular platform when it comes to smartphones and it comes as no surprise because it offer the most flexibility in terms of OS and development. And this helps developers create games that can easily become popular. Which is testimony to the fact that the Google Play has way more options in terms of apps and games than its competitors.

Speaking of which we will be talking about five games that we have shortlisted for this weekend which are new or have recently received some update. And for this week we have a treat for you as we talk about two classic runner games, a battle royale that is styled after the combat of Division series, a game which is quite literally a Counter Strike of Android, and an extremely entertaining Star Trek game where all your favorite characters are present.

For those racing fans out there who also like playing games like Subway Surfer, this is the game to play for them. From collecting cars and improving them to racing for points this is an addictive game. This game from T-Bull was released in January of 2018 and and has a download size of 77.1MB. The game is free to download but there are ingame purchases which begins from Rs 100. This game requires Android 4.1 and above to run.

Standoff 2

Counter Strike is one of the most popular multiplayer games in the world with some of the highest paying tournaments being played. Standoff 2 is inspired from Counter Strike to say the least. The visuals and content of the game is strikingly similar that of Counter Strike but that does not mean it is bad at all. It is rather enjoyable and runs very smooth for a mobile game.

This game was launched in July of 2017 by Axlebolt and has recently been updated. It is free to play and weighs 361.4MB with in-app purchases for skins and other things. It requires Android 4.1 and above to run.

Star Trek Trexels II

Here s a game that Star Trek fans will just love, because it has classic characters like Kirk, Spock, Picard and others. This strategy game is about managing your own ship full of Starfleet Officers and cadets and even engaging other players and their ships in battle.

This game from Kongregate was launched in May of 2018 and weighs only 56.9MB and is free to download, though there are in-game purchases to be made. This game can only be played on devices running Android 4.1 and above.

Hero Hunters

How many of you out there are fans of the Division game series? Then this game will definitely grow on you. The sheer Division like gameplay of this game makes it stand out even on the huge Android platform. Hide behind objects as you battle it out with other players and AI enemies and bosses.

This game was released in December 2017 by Digital Purchases and has an initial download size of 98MB and is free to download with in-game purchases. This game needs Android 4.4 and above to run.

Minion Rush: Despicable Me Official Game

This game from Gameloft which is a runner game like Subway Surfer may be old but recently got updated with new content like new gaming rooms in Gru’s Lair, costume cards with 70 costumes are available to unlock, Minion Agents, and coins to unlock costumes.

This game was released back in June 2013, but the new update makes it worth this list. This game is again free with in-game purchases. It weighs 92MB and needs Android 4.0 and over to run.
